Launch of JSAT Advanced

The Jersey Safety Council is pleased to announce that it is launching a new safety awareness test, JSAT Advanced.  The JSC is planning to launch the test on Monday March 2nd.   An overview of JSAT Advanced is provided below.

Who:
The JSAT Advanced is aimed for anyone who supervises others within the construction or allied industries. It is particularly relevant to those fulfilling the roles of Contracts Management, Site Management and Site Supervisors.

What:
Successfully passing the Jersey Safety Awareness Advanced Test will demonstrate an enhanced knowledge of construction site Health and Safety management and an understanding of the 2016 Management of Construction (Jersey) Regulations.

Why:
Commercial Clients and Principle Contractors desired a standardised method to ensure that those supervising projects have an appropriate knowledge of construction site health and safety management.

How:
The JSAT Advanced card can only be issued at an Approved Testing Centre.  The details of these can be found on the Jersey Safety Council web site www.jsc.je,  along with a pdf of the question set. Candidates are advised to read through the questions in advance of taking the test.  The testing station will arrange a time and all candidates are required to bring photo ID before the test can be taken.  JSAT Advanced cards will only be issued once the payment has been received.  The costs are £10 per attempt + £15 per card + GST = £26.25, if passed on the first attempt.  The JSAT Advanced test may be taken online but will not result in a JSAT Advanced card being issued.
