Launch of 2017 JeCC Awards
The launch of the 2017 JeCC Awards took place on Tuesday 25 April at the Hotel de France where the Chief Minister addressed the audience along with a presentation by Michael Ruane, 2016 Star of the Future winner.
Marc Burton outlined changes to certain categories this year and welcomed by old and new sponsors.
One of the main changes is the introduction of the Business of the Year Under 10 Employees which will hopefully attract entries from the smaller businesses within the industry. The Council has been working hard over the past six months to encourage smaller businesses to become actively involved with the Council and see that the JeCC works hard to react to issues surrounding smaller businesses as these organisations employee the majority of people within the construction industry.
We have retained the Best Use of Innovation Award and it was highlighted at the launch that entries are encouraged from not only technical innovations but any processes that have taken place within the workplace that have improved services, streamlined work etc.
With the increase in value of projects the Awards sub-committee have altered the Project of the Year categories and these will now be as follows -
This year we are delighted to welcome two new judges to the independant judging panel and these are Kirstyne O'Brien, Health & Safety Inspector and Mike Liston OBE, Jurat for the Royal Court of Jersey. Both Kirstyne & Mike join Graeme Smith who remains as Chairman of the Judging Panel ably assisted by Ed Sallis OBE and Mo Roscouet.
Thanks must go to all of our sponsors as without their financial support the JeCC would not be able to hold such a prestigious event.
